Canada has worked with United Nations since the beginning in 1945, and helped largely in drafting the UN Charter. Canada still helps to this day by participating in the organizations activities and helping them out financially as well.

Canadian Troops sent to Afghanistan
Canadian troops were sent out to Afghanistan for 12 years. They were sent with the goal of helping Afghans rebuild Afghanistan into a country that is better governed, and more stable and secure. They built on these goals eventually coming up with investing in the education and health of the youth, and advancing security to protect their human rights.
