In Upper, and Lower Canada there were rebellions fighting for the right and freedom for no discrimination of the English minority. -
Unition of Upper and Lower Canada
The two separate pieces of Canada unite under the Act of Union and become the Province of Canada. -

Britian officially creates the united Province of Canada, but with no good form of government. -
Lord Elgin for Governer
Lord Elgin was appointed governor, he wanted to make Canada sort of independent but he wanted to do so peacefully. -
Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia was the first to finally establish a form of what could be considered a responsible type of government. -
New Colony was established
A new colony was established in the Province of Canada known as the Crown Colony of Vancouver Island. -
Rebellion Losses Bill of 1849
Due to the vast losses of property during the rebellions, a bill was established to compensate those losses for people, although as a result of the consequences of this bill government had been moved to Ottawa as is to this day. -
British Columbia
The colony of British Columbia was now finally established! -
American Civil War
This marked the beginning of the American Civil War for Canada.
Canada desired Rupert's Land. -
The Conferance
A conference is held in Charlottetown. It was originally meant for the Maritime Union only, however Macdonald, Browil, and Cartier joined the conference and convinced the Maritime Union to aid their mission. -
London
The London Conference lead to the first successful attempt at confederacy in Canada! -
Canada Day
The day of success that to this day we mark as Canada day!
