    This date was when the first railway was built and soon was the best way to travel for people because it was faster and no matter where the place was the train on the railway can take you there. You didn't have to depend on water to travel or the expectation that there's a disruption. Since building railways were so expensive, they ended up building one of the longest railways in the world called the Grand Trunk railway. It was finished 1859

    Like it was said before men, women and children had to work hard outside and in the house to keep their family healthy and wealthy. But when markets developed it was easy for families just to buy needs and food for the family. Except for others because since imports and exports didn't exist, they were the ones who worked twice as hard to make sure they get the job done right.

    Road to Confederation

    During this time period, 10 different men worked together to create an independent country. These 10 men were John A MacDonald, Geogre Etienne Cartier, Thomas D'Arcy McGee, Geogre Brown, Sir Alexander Tilloch Galt, Samuel Leonard Tilley, Sir Etienne Pascal Tasche, Sir Charles Tupper and more. After 17 years the plan worked without any wars or disagreement. Railroads were also important to this confederation because it's Canada's development and the people who invented it were supporters.

    In the 1850s the common daydress was fine with the way the style is. Also, the bust flattering corset was popular until they came up with a different design that is more suitable. Another outfit is the basque waist outfit that was extremely popular and was fashionable. There are more outfits but these were the popular ones.

    Back then the cloting of the men is very simliar to what the guys have now like shirts, trousers and vests. The difference is different material.

    When this device was finally delivered in Newfoundland, people were able to send messages across the Atlantic Ocean. This telegraph cable also makes it easier to communicate other than sending ships to send messages and waiting for the citizens on the other side to reply. To be honest the inventors didn't get the machine right the first time, they actually failled many attempts. But that was a lucky day because it finally worked.

    Birth of Canads
    On July 1st, 1867, after years of hard work, dedication and persuasion, these 10 important gentlemen have convinced the queen of England to let them build their own country. So, that means they are getting rid of British North America and connecting Upper and Lower Canada, then calling the land, which is now a country Canada. All the people chose John A McDonald to be the leader. Here is a quote that John said: “Let us be English or let us be French... but above all let us be Canadians.”

    This man was not only one of the founding fathers of Canada, he was an intelligent, caring and a person who strongly believes in equality. John was the person who actually was involved in bringing all the provinces together and without him, Canada wouldn’t be what it is today. But his life as an ordinary man was very sad and heartbreaking because his first wife and son died and the daughter has brain damage. But he came through and was elected 3 more times. He ended up to be a true leader.

    During this time John A MacDonald chose to create a force to make sure that people follow the law and not breaking it. He decided to nsme the North-West Mounted-Police. Which is now called the RCMP (Royal Candian Mounted Police). He was inspired by the US and Irish because they had their own country. Now we know that John A MacDonald made a good choice.

    The date was March 10, 1876, when Alexander Graham Bell came up, designed and built the first telephone. His assistant was the one to try it out first. Alexander got awards and used the money to start labs, so he can invent more stuff. After that he was already a wealthy man. So, after that hard work dealing with his brother's death, his father inventing visible speech and school finally paid off.

    O Canada
    Even though O Canada officialy became Canada's national in 1980 on the coountry's birthday, but it was actually performed or sung on this date . The two guys who wrote it were Calixa Lavallée who did the english version and Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier who did the french version. So thanks to these guys we listen to the beautiful and meaningful national anthem everyday because it represents Canada.
