    This event is -1 because it was a terrible time, but also made a bit of progress. The Vimy Bridge was the most celebrated military victory. It was the mythological symbol of the Canadian national pride and awareness. But, the French and the British planned a new offensive in order to break through German lives. It was a bad time for Canadians since they were ordered to seize the strong point of Vimy Ridge.

The suffrage represented hopes for improvements in education, healthcare, and employment. The suffrage was supported by many women, Black and White. Some entire villages were cleared out by the Spanish Flu. Unfortunately, the flu brought death. Many children were left without parents, and some families were left without their chief wage earner.

The government arrested 10 leaders of the Central Strike Committee and two members of the One Big Union.

In May 1918, majority of the women aged over 21 were able to vote.

    The Pier 21 is a great progress for Canada. The progress is a +2 because it helped many immigrants. Pier 21 is an immigration depot on the Halifax harbourfront. Point of entry for one million immigrants into Canada. Pier 21 was taken over by the Department of National Defense, and the Pier 21 ended in March 1971. Later on, the Pier 21 turned into a National Historic Site which was granted in September, 1996. The project was finished on July 1, 1999.
