American revolutionaries want to capture Quebec. They begin to lay siege upon cities in Quebec, they successfully capture Montreal and Fort St-Jean, but fail to capture Montreal. -
Siege of Fort Cumberland
Johnathon Eddy and companions, who live in Nova Scotia, get a bit angry at the Briish, so they stage a siege upon Fort Cumberland. -
Some French join Patriots
Some of the Quebecois join the Patriots and defeat the British in The Battle of Yorktown. -
Freedom for Loyalists
Loyalists who settled in Nova Scotia want freedom from Halifax, so Britain split off the colony of New Brunswick in 1784 -
Separation in Canada
Due to the Constitution Act of 1791, Quebec is separated into Upper and Lower Canada and many Loyalists were pleased. -
War of 1812
The war of 1812 begins, a brutal between Britain and the United States, in which the US tried to take over Canada. It ended with no sides gaining any territory. -
Rebellion for "responsible government"
Many Canadians, after the War of 1812, wanted to break free from the British monarchy and have the government represent the people of Canada. They organized a few rebellions, but were easily smited by the British govenrment. -
The Rebels stop the rebellion!
After the Rebellions of 1837, Lord Durham in his Durham Report, recommended that Upper Canada and Lower Canada should be joined to form the Province of Canada and that the new province should have a responsible government. As a result of Durham’s report, the British Parliament passed the Act of Union 1840, and the Province of Canada was formed in 1841. The new province was divided into two parts: Canada West (the former Upper Canada) and Canada East (the former Lower Canada) -

The Great Coalition
John A Macdonald forms a coalition with George-Etienne Cartier (leader of the French Canadian bleues) and George Brown (leader of the anti-french Grits) -
Charlottetown Conference
The Premier of the Province of Canada John A. Macdonald surprised the Atlantic premiers by asking if the Province of Canada could be included in the negotiations. The request was channelled through the Governor-General, Monck, to London and accepted by the Colonial Office. -
The Dominion of Canada is Formed!
John A. MacDonald is elected Prime Minister and the Dominion of Canada is formed
