John Cabot Claims Cape Brenton Island
John Cabot claims Cape Brenton Island (Newfoundland) for Henry VII of England. The first person to set a claim in what becomes Canada. -
Samuel de Champlain creates first European settlement in Canada
Samuel and his crew are the first europeans to create a setlement in Canada, they settle in quebec. This is very impoirtant because with this settlement it allows europeans to start moving over to Canada. Quebec is also a key location helping them in was like the war of 812. This is also key because with them being French settlers, it add a second language to the country. -
The Husdons Bay company is founded
The company was founded by a bunch of British merchants, allowing for trade rights over Ruperts land. (all land leading into Hudsons Bay) They are important because with the creation of this comany, its decicions efected canada a lot. -
The Treaty of Utrecht
This treaty ended the Queen Annes war, granting the British possession of Hudsons Bay, Newfoundland, and Acadia. With British possession over Acadia it flourishes. -
The Quebec Act
The Quebec act introduced British criminal law but kept French civil law. It also graned religous freedom for Roman Catholics. -
American Revolution
The Americans under the command of Richard Montgomery, capture Montreal and attack Quebec. 1776, Quebec withstands an American seige until the British Navy arrives. The revolution ends in 1776, December 31st. -
Upper and Lower Canada
With the Constitutional Act of 1791, it led to the division of Quebec. This division split Quebec along the St Lowrance river, creating Upper and Lower Canada. -
War of 1812
The first American attack into Canada was under the command of General William Hull in Jully 11th. After lots of fighting, the Americans and British come to an agreement and the war had no declaired winners. In the end, America walked away with nothing and the British came out with Canada. -
Canada gets its border defined
Canadas border was created on the 49th parelel line from Lake Woods to Port Roberts. They did this to prevent further American attacks on the West. -

The first railway in Canada was St Johns Quebec to La Prairie, Quebec. -

The British want to split up the French and the British people in Canada so they create "Upper" and "Lower" Canada. By doing this it recuded the amount the two came into contact. Also helping to recude French rebelions. -

The Canadian border is extended from Port Roberts to Vancouver island. This helps to stop the Americans from pushing north. -
First Canadian Rebellion
The first Canadian rebellion is by the Metis. With some Britishing eanting to supress the French. They were droven out by General Wolsey and the Manitoba act calms down the rebelion and creates the provence, Manitboa. -
Riel becomes an American Citizen
Louis Riel becomes an American citizen after his long fought battle, fighting for the beliefs of the Metis. He was very passionate and helped many Metis out but was forced to leave Canada as he was wanted for murder. With his banish of 5 years from Canada, in that time the Supreme Court is created. -
Canada Joins World War One
With war breaking out in Urope, Britain declaires war on German bringing Canada into the war because they are a part of the common wealth.
