    Lon Nol over throws the prince and becomesthe leader. He is also associated with the United states.

    Pol Pot leads the Khmer Rouge in the taking of the capital Phnom Penh.

  • Pol Pot Overthrows

    Pol Pot leads the rebelious Khmer Rouge and overthrows Lon Nol and makes Cambodia a communist country.

    After American bombing Pol Pot starts a genocide in Cambodia

    Cambodia is renamed Democratic Kampuchea.

    Pol Pot starts a war with Vietnam

  • Pol Pot Flees

    Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge get away to Thailand.

    After the four year long genocide it finally ends.

    Khmer Rouge rebell against the new leader that the United Nations chose.
