Military Tribunus
Caesar begins his political and military career by being elected as a tribunus militum, an officer in the Roman army. This position helps him to gain military experiences and have connections with other influential military leaders. -
65 BCE
Aedile
Ceasar got elected to the office of Aedile. This position is responsible for the temples and other public facilities. With this position, he could organize festivals and other events to be better known in the mind of the voting public. -

Pontifex Maximus - Praetor
Caesar got elected as a Pontifex Maximus in the year 63 BC. He served as the chief priest of the religion of Rome. It was a prestigious office for him. A year later he got elected as a Praetor and he divorced his wife after a fake accusation. -
Period: 61 BCE to 60 BCE
Appointed Governor - return to Rome
In 61 BC Caesar got pointed to be the governor of Farther Spain (Andalusia and Portugal). Caesar were in a huge dept, but in order to pay them and pay Crassus who had paid the quarter of his dept, he conquered the northwest of farther Spain and with the taxes and loot he could pay his dept. A year later in 60 BC Caesar returned to Rome and ran for consul for the next year. -

Elected Consul - Triumvirate
Caesar got elected as a consul, despite the senate's efforts to prevent that. The triumvirate of Caesar, Crassus and Pompeius were formed. Pompeius was an excellent military leader but he desired more and more despite he did't have money. Crassus was wealthy and politically powerful, but he wanted to be a military leader despite he did't have talent. Caesar had good diplomatic skills and he was popular among the public but he didn't have enough power. They devided the political powers. -
59 BCE
Law of distribution
Caesar introduced a law about the distribution of the land of Italy which was controlled by the government. The senate tried to prevent this but Caesar was succeeded with the help of the veterans and he could satisfy Pompeiu's needs. -
Period: 58 BCE to 54 BCE
Governor of Cisalpine Gaul and Transalpine Gaul
Caesar got arranged to be the governor of Cisalpine Gaul and later Transalpine Gaul. Caesar started several conquering wars and he was successful with it.

49 BCE
Civil War
Caesar brought his army to the Rubicon River (border of Italy and Cisalpine Gaul) and decided to ignore the order of the Senate and he took his army to Ital which caused a civil war. Caesar drove out his political opponents from Italy and later he attacked Pompeius's army in Spain. -
Period: 46 BCE to 44 BCE
Dictatorship and death
Caesar became a dictator. He defeated all the rebellion forces and oppositions. In 45 BC Caesar returned to Rome after the defeating campaign. A year later, in 15th of March 44 BC he got assassinated.
