    Emperor Constantine I founded the Byzantine empire
    After the German invaders took over the Roman Empires in the west, Emperor Constantine brought his base over to the eastern Mediterranean sea. This is when Constantine rebuilt his empire and named in Constantinople which later in 330 AD became the new capital.

    In 527 belisarius came to command of the Roman army. Belisarius led his armies to multiple victories throughout Africa and Europe all the way up until the year 551 when he retired from his military ways.

    The Nika revolt were the most violent riots in Constantinople history. On January 13th, 532 chariot races were set to begin when members of the blue and green teams tried to make the emperor show mercy for false executions. With no response by the empire the two teams came together and started mobbing the streets and went after emperor Justinian.

    The Islamic military launched a campaign against the Byzantine empire during the early seventh century. Over a few years the Arabs had conquered the territories of Syria, and Palestine from the Byzantines. This was the first war between Islamic and Christian people and set a new conquest for North Africa.

    The Byzantine government tried to cause a disagreement amongst the burgers allowing the escape of their captive emperor. Basil led his army of 30,000 men into Bulgaria but later was defeated when his army fell into a ambush at the battle of the gates of Trajan.
