    • In one of the civil wars the empire had he defeated Magnus Maximus
    • There was a plague in 540. it was a desease that affected the Eastern Byzantine Empire but especially the capital of Constantinople.

    • He created a set of laws called the Justinian Code
    • The Nika Riots where protesting because of the raising of taxes.
    • Justinian to deal with this he send the people to the hippodrome so he can make a deal with them but instead he killed them.
    • He built the Hagia Sofia six weeks after so people will think nothing terrible happened.
