Construction Grant Award
The Boston University Medical Center is awarded a grant from Nationa Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to build a biocontainment laboratory. This lab is one of only two in the country. BU hopes the construction of this lab will advance the New England region to a higher level of research credibility and hopefully turn it into a hub for groundbreaking medical research. -

Construction on the Boston University NEIDL begins in the South End of Boston. -

Construction of the lab is complete. -
Judge Rules in Favor of BU Biolab
Bio-Safety Level 4 infectious diseases are allowed to be studied in the lab after a judge rules it safe enough.
