The Black Death started
The Black Death was a deadly disease that killed millions of people that was spread by the fleas on rats. if one person in a house caught the disease, the rest of the house would soon catch it. 1 in 3 people died from this disease. the person who caught the disease would start of getting flu - like symptoms and soon would get swollen glands and soon buboes in the groin, neck and armpits which oozed pus and bled when opened. the victim would die within the second to seventh day. -

the river lock was an invention used for raising and lowering boats, ships and watercrafts. the lock is used now days too. it is a chamber where the water levels can change. -

invention of the printing press
the printing press was said to be invented around 1440.Joh annes Gutenberg invented the Printing Press. The Printing press was invented to help spread information. It was used to make copies of books. A single printing press could produce 3,600 pages per work day compared to 2000 with block printing. The invention of the printing press gave people new jobs to use the printing press. -

caravel
the caravel was developed in the 15th century. The Caravel was a small sailing ship. these types of boats were easy to navigate so more of them were made. these boats very fragile. the caravel had a shallow keel which helpd it travel upriver in shallow coastal waters. -

Potato was found
Potatoes were introduced outside the Andes region approximately four centuries ago and are now one of the worlds main food supplies. With the Potato found farmers were able to produce more food which helped them survive. Potatos are highly nutritious which helped stop diseases such as scurvy, tubercolosis and measels. the Potato led to good popuation boosts. -
English Civil War
there were three civil wars between 1642 and 1651. This was then followed by the glorious revolution in 1688 that gave privileges to protestants outside the church of England. The Civil War was a series of armed conflicts and political disagreements. The war ended on the 3rd of September 1651. -
execution of Charles the first
Charles' problems revolved around religion and a lack of money. The day he was executed was freezing. He wore two shirts to stop him shivering and to hide him been afraid.Charles I 19 November 1600 – 30 January 1649 was monarch of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 27 March 1625 until his execution in 1649. He was born on the 19 November 1600 and died on thr 30 January 1649 when he was executed. he was executed for high treason. -
Great Fire of London
the Great fire of London started on the 2nd of September to Wednesday, 5 September 1666. The fire burnt the medieval City of London. itr consumed 13,200 houses, 87 parish churches. It is estimated to have burnt down and destroyed the homes of 70,000 of the City's 80,000. only six deaths have been recorded. Archaeologists found that the fire reached 1700 degrees. The Great Fire of London was seen as a good thing because it burnt the polluted creek and bacteria and helped end the plague. -

inbetween 1700 and 1740. Englands Population remained steady until after 1740 when it rose dramatically. The popultion doubled at 8.3 million in 1801 to 16.8 million in 1850. in 1901 it had nearly soubled again to 13.5 million. With health and living conditions improving during the 19th century Britains population doubled every 50 years. -

The sewing machine was invented by Thomas Saint but he did not successfully market or advertise his invention. The Sewing Machine was meant to be used on leather and canvas but was soon also used on other materials. The Sewing Machine made new jobs for people which brought money in for them to help them live. -
invention of the plough
the plough was and still is used to rip up the ground for things to be buried in or for paddocks that were in bad condition. the plough is a farm tool. the plough made work easier for farmers so they didnt have to use hand tools. -
immunisation of small pox
the small pox immunisation was the first successful vaccine. Small pox is one of the deadliest diseases known to man.The disease hasn’t made an appearance in Australia since 1938. The last ever death from smallpox occurred in 1978. -
telegraph
the Telegraph was developed in the 1830s and 1840s. The telegraph helped make long distant communication. It worked by transmitting electrical signals over a wire laid between stations. The telegraph helped family and friens communicate and get messages to others faster then by letter. It helped make new jobs for people by having them work running the telegraph. -
