The first people who made it out to the fields were primarily residents of california. In the year 1849 the people from other areas began to rush to california for gold and other precious minerals. An estimated 12 million ounces of gold were found during the first gold rush to california. Boomtowns that were large included the large town of san fransisco. Comstock Lode
The comstock silver lode was discovered in the high mountansides of nevada. Over 15,000 pepole rushed to gain some of the easily obtained steel within the lodes. The wealth is was obtained very easy. Towns throughout of Nevada were large enough to thrive during this era. some towns are still in exsitence today. -
Black Hill's Gold Rush
This rush was a bit on the smaller scale not much happened with this rush. This rush happened through modern day sioux territories in the united states. -
Telluride Rush
The telluride rush took place in Colorado,There was a different form of gold called calverite which was mainly found in Tellueride COLORADO. The new form of gold was very saught after. The town of Telluride stuckaround and is now a skiing town. -
Aspen Silver Rush.
This rush was for a sudden find of silver in Colorado. The towns across the area had a rapid population boom. over 4,000 people rushed to Aspen for this gold rush.There was beleived to be over 100,000 ounces of silver collected in aspen during this rush. -
Klondike Gold Rush
The klondike gold rush was a massive rush of people to Alaska and other parts of the Yukon. The original moment was known as the Stampede Most of the gold was found at Bonanza creek. The boomtown that was most prominent was Fairbanks Alaska which is now a really large settlement in Alaska.
