The Fifa World cup had its first appearance as a global tournament, hosted in Uruguay. Brazil was one of the seven teams representing South America in this tournament for the first time. -
Representing South America
In the World cup hosted by France, Brazil became the only qualified team representing South America. The team reached their first semi-finals loosing against Italy. The top scorer of the competition was Leonidas Da Silva with 7 goals. Leonidas Da Silva was considered one of the best players of the past century. -
End of a streak
After 27 years of not winning any tournaments, Brazil hosted the South American Championship and won against Paraguay. Jair Rosa pinto was the top scorer with 9 goals. -
"Maracanazo": Biggest chaos in soccer history.
Brazil hosted their first World Cup getting all the way to the final alongside with Uruguay. The final was played at the Maracana Stadium in Rio De Janeiro, with a record of attendance of 199,854 expectactors the day of the final. Brazil needed a draw to win the World Cup, but at the end lost the match 2-1. After the game, the whole country of Brazil was in a deep depression, with lots of anger against the national team.The players were threatened and some fanatics committed suicide. -
A new Image
For the World Cup in Switzerland, the team appeared with a different image and colors to forget the tragedy of the past World Cup, using yellow and blue as their representing uniform. In this tournament they lost against Hungary at the quarter - finals 4-2. The match had a lot of polemic actions where the referee had to stop most of the players from fighting each other, it is remembered as the "Battle of Berne". -
The King
The arrival of Pelé made the golden age of brazilian football. He arrived with only 16 years of age being a player from "Santos". He was called to play in the next World Cup being the youngest player that has ever played in this tournament. Pelé is now considered by many experts as the best football player in history. -
Victory
Brasil won their first World Cup becoming the first country to win the championship outside their continent. The won the final against the hosting country,Sweden. The game ended 5-2 and Pelé was a key player scoring two goals. -
Second title
Brasil won their second World Cup in England beating Czechoslovakia 3-1. Pelé got injured on the first games of the tournament but Garrincha became the hero for Brasil and was the top goalscorer of the tournament. -
Unstoppable
Brazil won their third title in Mexico winning all their games with a powerful squad showing Pelé in his last World Cup alongside with Gerson, Rivelino and Tostao. -
Record
24 years without winning or even playing the final of the World Cup after the retirement of Pelé, Brazil became champion of the world once again on The United States. First team to have ever won the World Cup four times. -
The last Victory
In Korea-Japan Brazil won their fifth title winning the final against Germany with the appearance of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo, the three best players of the squad. -
A big defeat
Brazil was hosting the World Cup having a great chance to take the victory. On the Mineirao Stadium, the team lost 7-1 against Germany on the semi- finals. The biggest defeat in World Cup history. This event became known as "The Mineirazo" remembering the "Maracanazo" of 1950. -

Now Brazil is participating on the World Cup in Russia, with a lot of promising young players and one of the best scorers today, Neymar Jr.
