In 1572 Brahe observed a supernova. With his findings he published a small book, De nova stella. Thereby coining the term nova for a "new" star (we now classify this star as a supernova) -

Heliocentric Theory
Brahe developed the Heliocentric Theory. This theory states that the Sun revolves around the Earth and the rest of the planets revolve around the Sun. Though this theory is wrong, astronomers like Galileo were able to dig deeper into it and create a correct one. -
Present Day
Today we still use the theory that Galileo formulated from the findings of Brahe. Though he was wrong, he made a very big impact on modern astronomy.
