Sopwith Camel is invented
This was when Tommy Sopwith added to the development of the Camel.
-The Sopwith Camel had a pair of twin Vickers machine guns, giving it strong firepower and an ability to shoot for nearly 20 seconds non-stop.
-Carrying 4 bombs gave it a varied arsenal too.
-It was also made of Aluminium which was light and gave it added manoeuverability. It weighed just 930lb when empty - very light.
-It was quicker than it's rival, the Fokker, so could escape dog fights when necessary - 118mph to 115mph -
