I came into the world the year Jaws was released and became the top grossing film of the year. • PONG

    PONG
The console we had only had Pong as an option.
It was amazing for it's time, and we spent hours playing it.
You could play against someone else, or the computer. The computer was not as smart back then as they are now. I'd often win even as a 4/5 year old. Alcorn 1972, Pong, video game, Atari, Atari.

    Granny's Garden
    Granny's Garden
My primary school introduced Amstrad computers with a couple of games we could play. One was Granny's garden. This game haunted me for many years as I only ever managed to finish it once, with help. I always struggled with the dragons. This game was what sparked my begging my parents to get an Amstrad. Matson 1983, Granny's Garden, video game, BBC Micro, 4mation
  • Ultima VII - The Serpents Gate

Ultima VII - The Serpents Gate
Ultima VII Part 2 - The Serpent's Gate I finished part one and was looking forward to playing part 2. This was before the internet. I got stuck. Imagine my face when years later, I looked it up and discovered the secret passage I was looking for was labeled 'Wall' instead of 'wall'. Probably the reason I click on everything in games today. Armintrout 1993, Ultima VII -The Serpent's Gate, video game, PC, Origin Systems
  • World of Warcraft

    World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft I played WOW for many years, and met many friends I still have now almost 2 decades later. Before they introduced looking for group it was such a great game to meet people. You had to be polite or people wouldn't tolerate you in their group. Shanaki was the name of my original druid, and the friends I made then still tend to call me Shan today. Blizzard 2004, World of Warcraft, video game, PC, Blizzard Entertainment
  • PlanetBase

    PlanetBase
PlanetBase I love town building games. There is just something so satisfying about seeing a town grow and grow. This is the game I've spent the most time on over the years. 267.5 hours. Figueroa 2015, PlanetBase, video game, PC, Madruga Works
  • Happy Salmon

    Happy Salmon
Happy Salmon This game is the most amazing icebreaker. I played it with complete strangers and we were friends by the end of it. You need to find someone with the matching card and complete the action with them. It is hilarious watching people making the various signs in the silent version of the game. Exploding Kittens 2016, Happy Salmon, card game
  • Horizon Zero Dawn

    Horizon Zero Dawn
Horizon Zero Dawn I finally bought a PS4 so I could play this game. The art work, the story, the strong female lead... perfection. I watched a Yogscast member complete a playthrough and knew that was it. I needed to play it. Guerrilla Games 2017, Horizon Zero Dawn, video game, Playstation, Sony Interactive Entertainment
