On this day, 242 Japanese aircraft attacked ships in Darwins harbour.The town only had a few people defending it. The Japanese had alot of air forces taken down but not much lost their lives. -

Air Raids - BroomeOn 3 March 1942, without warning, Japanese people attacked. The attack only lasted for 20 minutes, during which time 25 Allied aircraft were destroyed and dozens of people were killed or wounded. Many victims were women and children. -
Bombing of Townsville.
Townsville, July 1942.Townsville was an important Allied airbase in Australia. In July 1942 Japanese flying boats made three attacks on the town and harbour. Two of the three attacks involved only one aircraft.The raider’s bombs fell harmlessly into the harbour or onto the ranges behind the town. The last bomb of the final raid landed at the racecourse, breaking windows in nearby houses. -
