On July 1971, a motorcycle movie called "On Any Sunday" was released. The opening scenes featured a group of kids from California pretending to race their bicycles as if they were riding motorbikes. In 1977, the American Bicycle Association was formed as they oversaw the growth of the sport. According to Union Cycliste Internationale, this is considered to be the official start of BMX racing. The sport was also becoming popular on a global scale, particularly in Europe and the U.S.A. -

BMX OLYMPIC SPORT
BMX made its debut as an Olympic sport in the 2008. Games were held in China. -
