"The 100 Year War" Was a series of conflicts waged from 1337 to 1453. On one side was the House of Plantagenet, rulers of the Kingdom of England. On the other side, the French House of Valois. The war was to determine who had right to rule the Kingdom of France. -

It lasted from 1347 to 1351. It was estimated to have decimated the population, killing around 75 to 200 million people. It started in Asia, and spread to Europe withing 15 years. -

Joan of Arc Burned at the Stake
She is considered a heroine of France for her role during the Lancastrian phase of the Hundred Years' War. She was later handed over to the English after being captured by a allied French group and was put on trial by the pro-English bishop Pierre Cauchon on a variety of charges. After Cauchon declared her guilty she was burned at the stake, dying at about nineteen years of age. -

He invented the printing press as a break through in technology, and revolutionized the world with the worlds first printer. It was a modified grape smasher. -

Pizarro marched his army up the Andes Mountains and on November 15, 1532. He reached the Inca town of Cajamarca first, where Atahuallpa was enjoying the hot springs. And with the Inca empire being weakened by disease and their emperor being replaced they were quickly over-run. -

The cause of Shakespeare's death is currently a mystery. But there is a clue that was made in the entry in the diary of John Ward, the vicar of Holy Trinity Church in Stratford (where Shakespeare is buried). It basically tells us that Shakespeare died of alcohol poisoning. -
Thaj Mahal Completed
It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction started in 1632 and wasn't completed until 1648. The outer courtyard and its other add-on were added subsequently in 1653. -
