  • The French and Indian WAR

    The French and Indian WAR
    The end of the French and Indian war basically allowed Britain to gain control of French Canada for a period of time. Britain had the strongest and wealthiest nation at the time. However, the French and Indian war and The Seven Years war had drained the British treasury, causing Britain to increase taxes that were paid by the colonists and thus sparking the Birth of The American Republic.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    At this point in time the colonists had enough of the unfair treatment that they received from Britain. Years of mistreatment had finally led to the colonists protesting against the unfair treatment and the unnecessary taxes. The colonists must have been posing a threat because in March 1770 British soldiers opened fire on a crowd of protesting colonists and killed 5 of them. The event known as The Boston Massacre later on caused colonists to formulate a plan to rid themselves of Britain.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    Colonists had pretty much had it with the all the taxes that Britain had been placing on them and they decide to one day dump millions of dollars worth of tea into the Boston Harbor. This became known as the Boston Tea Party and when Parliament tried to pass harsh laws to punish Massachusetts, the other colonies rallied behind them in defense. This event caused tension and later will cause the colonists to have to defend themselves later on.
