Susan B. Anthony devoted her life to Antislavery,Temperance,and womens rights movement. She worked to change many laws that we would not have today without the wonderful woman she is. -
Joined the Daughters Of Temperance
She joined the Daughters Of Temperance,which focused on the dangers of Alcohol. -
Began teaching in early 1840's
She joined the teachers union to fight for equal wages. -
Meeting Elizabeth Cady Stanton
Susan B Anthony traveled to Seneca Falls and was introduced to Elizabeth Stanton. The two women soon delveoped a close friendship which would last decades. -
Founded the Womens State Temperance Society
She attended a Temperance convention and was refused the right to speak at the meeting. -
Became an agent for the American AntiSlavery Society
Became an agent for the American AntiSlavery Society,which involved organizing mettings,speeches,putting up posters,disributing leaflets,and encountering sometimes violent opposition. -
The Fourteenth Amendment passes
Anthony saw this as giving the 'right to vote' to women as well as men. -
