On the morning of Dec 7 at 7:48 the japan attacked pearl harbor. They attacked them to destroy the US Pacific fleet. They destroy them so the wouldn't interfear with the Japanese. -
D-day
On June 6. 1944 160,000 Allied troops stormed 50-mile french coastline. Over 5,000 ships, and over 13,000 aircrafts. This was a big risk. Over 9,000 allied troops died, but this began the defeat of the Nazis.

It was a hour long broadcast on CBS. since only a few people had a color tv so not many were able to watch it. -

It was interoudced into the US in 1953. Becuase of the high price of the tv it does not become popular until the 1960's. -
CNN is founded
In 1980 Ted turner founded CNN. CNN stands for Cable News Network. CNN was the first television boradcast to broadcast 24-hours new coverage. It was also the first all news television channel in the US.

Chernobyl
A flawed Nuclear reactor cuased steam explosion and fires. This released 5% radioactive reactor core. The city was abodoned over night. Only two worked died on the night of the accident, while 28 later died.

Fox news was launched on Oct 7 1996. Foxs news is one of the biggest news broadcast. The give live news coverage 24/7. They have over 102 million viewers. -
9/11 Terrorist attack.
On 9/11 Terroists hijacked 4 passenger jets. They were gonna crash the palnes into buildings. The suceeding in crashing two planes into the World trade center. A third one crashed into the pentagon. The last plane. The passengers retook the plane from the hijackers and crashed it. it was planing to hit The White House.

Boston Marathon Bombing
On April 15th, two brothers by the name of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. They placed two bombs close to the finsh line of the boston marathon. 3 people died and many others were hurt.
