Berlin Wall Timeline

  • The 4 way Split

    This split Berlin in half to divide the East side to the Soviets and the West side to the allies which created a 4 way split with Berlin.

  • WW2 Ended

    This happened 16 years before the wall got put up in 61

  • Berlin Blockade

    Soviets to drive into West Berlin and push the allies out of the city. The Soviets goal was to starve out the city for themselves.

  • Berlin Wall got full built

    This was when the Soviets divided Berlin with the wall and was a very enter at your own risk plan with the West side.

  • More Political Changes

    Political changes happened in Europe and civil unrest in Germany put pressure on East Germany.

  • When It Got Put Up

    Construction for putting up the wall

  • Protests of the wall

    The first protest was a protest march to AlexanderPlatz in the centre of East Berlin at 11:00. 500,000 protesters came from from just east Berlin but from East Germany.

  • When the wall got taken down

    This is when the wall fell

  • Germany Was Reunified

    This triggered the the swift collapse of the other East European countries.

  • Gorbachev

    Gorbachev resigned the Soviet Union Socialist Republics Party
