    Prisoners were taken to Front Royal, they marched 25 miles to Winchester where they stayed for 9 days and left June 1st. They then marched to Cedar Creek where they were given 3 crackers and a pound of bacon. They eventually marched 18 miles to Harrisonburg.

    Citizens gave them a lot of bread, then they marched 25 miles beyond Fort Republic and the next day they marched to 25 miles to Waynesboro on the Virginia Central R.R. a distance of 12 miles where they stayed for 2 days.

    With no shelter until the 18th when they were first inside the fair grounds and a few tents given to them.This was the first shelter they had since they were captured, and worst of all, it rain 15 of the 18 days when they were going to Lynchburg.

There were here until the 4th of June and was presented flag and markers by the Ladies of Phila which were received for them by General Geary. After passing the Fairfax Station they halted at the Fairfax Court House after they marched 23 miles. They laid here all day and on the 17th started again with 3 days rations.

    They arrived and marched through the town, the women cried and most men had no shoes on. Then they went to Washinton, and then he went home to Philadelphia and stayed for 7 weeks.

    Alexandria and Washington took the cars of the B & O. R.R. when they found out they were going to the Army of the Cumberland then went to a camp in Murpressboro, until the 9th and then stayed at a place called Christanna.

    They stayed on the mountain until 12 oclock that night. They then ordered to Missionary Ridge to form a line of battle and after several desperate charges their Corps captured the Ridge along with cannons and many prisoners.

    They went into camp at the bottom of Lookout Mountain near near Wauhatchie. They were sent on picket and about 11:00 were driven and they got caught in a fight. The fight lasted for 3 hours when they were driven back. Then rebels shelled them.

    Brigade came from Stevenson and on May 3rd received orders to join them. They started on the march and went 8 miles to Shell Mound and started on the 4th from Shell Mound and marched 22 miles and halted at the foot of Lookout Mountain.
