Meeting the 'rents
I met my mom and dad on their wedding anniversary, at the age of 8 years old. They greeted my sister and I with coloring books, crayons, hugs, and excitement. :) -
Preliminary Adoption
As my sister has Bipolar, we had to do a year "trial" with our new family. My grandparents came down from Indiana :) -
Sister's 12th Birthday
My sister's birthday was our first birthday event with our new family! We went ice skating and had yummy cake and ice cream! -
My 9th Birthday!

I remember having chocolate cake for my birthday. Later when asked if I'd eaten the last pice, I replied no. The evidence of the crime was smeared all over my mouth. -
Gwinnett Teacher of the Year
My mom won the Gwinnett Teacher of the Year Award. She'd been nominated in December, and I remember everyone saying hello to her, which freaked me out. I asked her "Why does everyone know you?!"
For the next year, we got to drive around a convertible that she was "given" as a part of her "winnings". We did, sadly, have to give it back later... -
Finalizing the Adoption
After our year trial, we got to finalize our adoption!

Reconnecting with the Birth Family
Two months before my graduation from high school, I was able to reconnect with my birth father, Ralph!
