The U.S Senate voted in support of the measure to declare war on Germany. 48 hours later the United States later declared war on German ally Austria-Hungary on December 7, 1917. The United States emerged from the war as a world military and industrial leader.

Part I created the Covenant of the New League of Nations, which banned Germany from joinning until 1926. Part II specified Germany’s new boundaries.
