The Texas Revolution started with the Battle of Gonzales on October 2, 1835. The battle started because Mexico gave the Texans a cannon to protect them from the Native American tribes. This made the Texans mad and they fought back, therefore, causing the start of the Texas Revolution.

The Siege of Bexar started after the Battle of Gonzales when Texan troops followed the Mexicans back to their base. They finally made it to San Antonio where Texas finally took charge and had a sneak attack. This surprised the Mexican troops which led Texas to winning the battle and capturing San Antonio. After the Battle was over many Texans went home to their families and left the Alamo only guarded by around 100 men. This will lead to problems in the future battles.

The Battle of the Alamo took place on February 18, 1836 and lasted 13 days. It started with 189 Texan Soldiers and around 4,000 Mexican Soldiers. During the battle it seemed that Texas had the high ground; they were able to fend off most of the Mexican Soldiers, but that changed on Day 13 as Mexico scaled the wall and reached the mission. The Texans couldn't fight them off which resulted in defeat. In the end, Mexico had ~500 losses, while Texas had lost all of their men.

    Travis' Letter
On February 24, 1836 Travis sent a letter to America during the Battle of the Alamo as a cry for help. He sent the letter hoping to get reinforcements against Mexico. If he did not get these soldiers then it would be a very unfair battle and Texas would be in big trouble.
  • the runaway scrape

The Runaway Scrape began on March 14, 1836 after the Battle of the Alamo. After the battle, Mexico was very on edge which resulted in Santa Anna Traveling to Gonzales. On his way he stated that he would kill any revolutionist he saw on his path. So, many Texans packed up their belongings and fled to America (200 miles east). During this time General Houston ordered the town to be burned down so Anna wouldn't gain any benefit. So, when they came back to Gonzales, they came back to nothing at all.
  • the goliad massacre

The Goliad Massacre started when a commander, James Fannin went to Goliad to save the men who were in line to be executed. James Fannin was not the best leader, in fact he even disobeyed orders when one of his commanders told him to retreat which is part of the reason so many men died. While Fannin was returning to base he ran into Mexican Soldiers who surrounded the men and captured them. In the end they were all sent back to Goliad where they were executed for their actions.
