Germany won this battle.

    Along the western front, German soldiers started calling out "Merry Christmas" to their enemies. At first, they thought is was a trick, but when they saw the German soldiers were unarmed, they shook hands with their enemies and exchanged gifts. Nothing else has ever happened like this due to officers threatening disciplinary actions.
