  • Battle of Gonzales

    This battle was the first major battle that the Texans won. The Texans had a cannon that they used against the Mexicans. So the Mexicans wanted it back. That is why this battle was fought.

  • Battle of Conception

    This battle is considered the first major battle of the Texas Revolution. The Texans beat the Mexicans in this battle too by shooting down all of their artillery.

  • Siege of Bexar

    The Siege of Bexar was when the Texans fought against the Mexicans in San Antonio. The Texans successfully captured San Antonio.

  • Battle of the Alamo

    This battle was won by the Mexicans. Driven by their desire to take revenge for their humiliating defeat, they had an army of 4,000. The Texans lost all 189 men.

  • Battle of Goliad and Coleto Creek

    This was also a big win for the Mexicans. James Fannin, the commander of the Texans, ignored Sam Houston's orders to retreat and they were horribly outnumbered.

  • Battle of San Jacinto

    This is the last battle of the Texas Revolution. The Texans, led by Sam Houston, attacked Santa Anna when they were least expecting it. They won and claimed their independence from Mexico.
