They thought that the battle was at Bunkers hill when it was actually at Breeds Hill. They started sending troops to start the fight,they where sorrounding the city. The Americans won and the British lost. -
George Washington is elected leader of the continental army
The Continetal Congress commission George Washington as Commander in Chief of the continental army. Washington was selected over many candidates based on his previous military experience. -
Thomas Paine publishes Common Sense
Thomas Paine was inspired by people of the thirteen colonists. At the begining of the American Revolution the pamphlet became an immediate sensation. At the end it was sold and read aloud at traverns and meeting places. -
The Declaration of Independence is signed
There are lots of signers of the declaration of Independence like: Benjamin Frankling, John Hancock, and John Adams. The first, and largers signature was John Hancock's when he signed the Continental Congress. -

This battle was the turning point of the Revolutionary War. The Americans had 14,000 less experience troops but the British had 5,000 well trained troops. So the British had the advatage. -
The Battle of Yorktown
The battle of Yorktown was one of the last battles. On September 28 the French and American troops marched into Yorktown. They captured two redoubts on October 14. The British launched a counterattack but it failed. This situation was hopless for the British. -
The Treaty of Paris ends the War
The Treaty of Paris, signed on September 3, 1783. The Treaty of Paris ended in rhe Revolutionary War between the Great Britian and the United States.
