Battle of the Alantic
3/8 This has been called the longest battle in history, lasting six years. The german wolfpack submarines were trying to take over as much space as possible, they wanted to control the oceans and seas aswell. Germans destory convoys to show power, this attempt was to control cargo support as well. Canada came into to help defend the ocean and help protect other countries. -

7/8 during ww2 nazi had gain control of holland, canadian soldiers came in and helped freed them from germany. in return, canada was given loads of tulips. -

Battle Of Britain
4/8 This battle was an airforce bombing attack on Britian. This is also known as the blitz attack. Germnay wanted to take over Britan at this point. Canada role was to help teach pilots and help defeat germany in the skies. -
Battle Of Hong Kong
5/8 since hong kong was a british colony, canada was called in to help defend hong kong from being taken over by japan. many of canadian soliders were caught or become prisnors of war. -
Dieppe
1/8 This was the most important battle because this was there big day, they were suppose to use this as training for d-day. This battle failed miserably, canada was not prepared. Germany supplied trenchwarfare, blitz atttacks and many more. we werent ready at all. this put a huge stop to there rise of indpendence because they were already known as an army, and germany practially one the battle. -
Italy Campaign
8/8 to prevent germans from taking control of italy, canada went street by street evuatating every house and taking them to safety -
D-Day
2/8 This was when the allied forced came to france through the beaches of Normandy. Every country had beaches they had to take over, canada had to take over and maintain Juno. This was a huge changing part in the war.
