He was raised in inner Miami, surrounded by failing schools, poverty, and crime.
When he turned 15, a Jamaican pilot showed him what it's like to fly in an airplane. Irving fell in love with flying and was set on pursuing two dreams: becoming a pilot and flying solo around the world. -
