    Mungo Man
    Mungo man, the descendants of the first Australians 70000 years ago, was a hunter who had arthritis (probably from throwing spears) and was roughly 6 feet tall. He had problems on his teeth which was probably from tying strings together. When he died it is suggested that he was buried in a ceremonial way which shows that he was an important figure.

    There is evidence that the rock art found on the walls dates back to between 35 to 25 thousand years ago. Some intricate rock carvings on the walls, shows the largest flightless bird that has gone extinct around 40000 years ago.

    The ground edge tools that the Aboriginal people of Australia made date back around 35000 years ago. The tools were used to build boats and other tools for hunting.
  • The arrival of the First Fleet

    The arrival of the First Fleet
    The British First Fleet led by Captain Arthur Phillip arrived in Australia at Botany Bay. The First Fleet ships were filled with convicts who brought diseases with them across the journey. The cause of the convicts being moved to Australia was because of the Industrial Revolution. The cramped cities and limited jobs caused people to steal and they got arrested.
