Dutchman Willem Jansz and his ship Duyfken (Little Dove) land at Cape York Peninsula from Indonesia. They are the first ever Europeans to have contact with the Aboriginal Australians. -
Captain Cook's Arrival
Captain Cook on the Endeavour make the first European Sighting of Australia's Eastern Coast and on the 29th of April he entered Botany Bay and claimed the whole eastern part of Australia for England and calls it New South Wales. -
