Firestick farming was to reduce the impact of fuel and to stop fires from going out of control. Major food productions all over Australia was from fs farming, used to attract animals from grass to make them easier to hunt. It was also used to encourage the kangaroos and other animals to inhabit on the areas of fresh vegetation on the areas they had burnt. The ash left from the burning was fertiliser for the growth of the new rainforest. The development of the biome was shaped as the Indigenous ~

~Australians increased the amount and diversity of food available with the burnings of the land that produced edible food like eucalpt and grass trees and plants like bracken. The rainforests were burnt off to alter the conditions of the environment and to develop further food avalibilities. The farming converted rainforests to heath and sedgeland.

    Early Western Settlement
In the early 18th century farms were developed. These farms mainly consisted of wheat crops and raised sheep that occupy the land the aboriginies once prepared with their farming style of "firestick". Areas of forest and scrub were cleared for
pasture along Australia's coast and inland and the farmers quickly determined that the country was well suited for production of high quality wool. Wool became the main source of economy at the time.

    The Early Days
From the first productions of wool and wheat in the 19th century it was still dominating into the 20th century. As well as new production in beef and dairy cattle and also fruit and vegetable crops. From the past innovations of hand held plowing equipment to this point in time with a wooden plow towed by a horse, it has made the farm life a lot easy. Many difficulties have faced farmers over the 20th century including legislation, drought, and changes in the industry from man-powered to machine-

Recorded at the present day, the food industry is a major factor to Australias economy. Acording to "Argiculture Australia" manufacturing sales and service income and in 2009–10 provided jobs for 226,750 Australians. Australia is able to export more than half of whats grown by Australian farmers with a massive $24.3 billion worth of food exported and $10.1 billion imported, Australia make more than double the profit plus abit extra. The food that is exported includes fresh food and vegetables~

meat, milk, eggs ect. Food imported from other countries around the globe include; special spirits, seafood and other processed fruit and vegetables. Most of Australia's land, about 70% is used for farming production. Grazing is said to be the highest value sector in farm productions. In 2012 the 3 most sucessful farming productions were cattle, wheat and dairy.

    Future Innovations
With the world’s demand for food rising as the population grows, it calls for higher quality and greater variety of foods. By 2050, 9 billion people will occupy the world and twice as much food will need to be produced using the exact same land mass, but less. The challenge is to build "argo-ecosystems" where wealth from food and fibre
products will be produced within the flows of water. This will require rethinking of the current farming practices such as commencial planting of trees in large~
