1786
Our country established a new colony, they put a flag in the ground and named it Australia. -
1823
After Australia established there new colony the foundations of democracy was born. -
1842
The first responsible Government was elected and debating republicanism was made legal. -
1843
The first parliamentary election happen one year after the first responsible government was elected. -
1854
The Eureka rebellion started that was the first problem for the the first Governor. -
1855
After the eureka stockade happen the colonial parliaments were established at 1855. -
1858
something that was very significant the the Australian democracy was the 4 important things that women could not do before 1858. and the first ting that women could do was divorce. -
1861
The seconded thing that was important for women was that 3 years after they were allowed to divorce they were allowed to vote for Governor. -
1882
The third thing that women were allowed to do was to buy there own properties before this date they had to have a husband to live in a house or building. -
1885
There was a brake after what women were allowed to do and in that brake Australian federal council began, from 1885 - 1891. -
1891
In that brake there wasn't just on important date but 2 the second one was that the Australian labour party forms. -
1895
I think this date was the most important out of the 13 because this year was the year that women were allowed to vote and for the thousands of years before 1895 women did not have the right to vote for there own leader, neither were poor people (all genders), the only people that were allowed to vote before this date were rich men that owned property. -
1901 - Australia as a nation
I think that the most important man that was an Australian was Sir Edmund Barton because in 1901 he made Australia a nation before 1901 we were all separated.
