    Raido
    The inventor of the radios was Guglielmo Marconi, it is a device to listen to news and music. It was invented in Italy. It is a sound system from which you can listen to stations FM or AM. Some radios or also stereos and can play CD's.
  • Synthesizer

    Synthesizer
    The synthesizer invented in 1876 by American electrical engineer Elisha Gray. The synthesizer is considered to be one of the most valuable instrument to ever exist. An advantage of a synthesizer is it makes composing music easier. A disadvantage of a synthesizer is the cost of one.
  • Phonograph

    Phonograph
    The Phonograph was created for the mechanical recording and playing of sound through records. The inventor of the Phonograph was Thomas Edison.
  • Record

    Emile Berliner invented the flat disc record in 1888. The first flat discs made were 12.5cm and 18cm in diameter and were made of rubber. Up until the 60's, the record would only play for about 2 to 5 minutes on each side. By the 70's, a 30cm rotating flat disc was created offering up to 12 minutes per side.

    The modern stereo was created by Alan Blumlein to project sound. It is a sound system and has two or more speakers. Stereos are for CD's and sometimes are also radios and can be used to listen to different stations like FM or AM.

    The magnetic tape was invented for recording sound by Fritz Pfleumer in 1928 in Germany.
  • Digital Recording

    Digital Recording
    A digital recording is a system in which sound is stored and and changed into a stream of discrete numbers. The numbers are the air pressure at the time of the recording.
  • Compact Disc

    Compact Disc
    James Russell came up with the idea of the compact disc in 1965. The idea was to create somthing that would replace vinyl records. Somthing that would be easier to handle and to play. The first compact disc made an apperance on May 17th, 1978. Since then it has been the most popular way to play and store music.
