    Chemist John Dalton was born 1766 and died in 1844. He lived in a Quaker family and was also the first to study color blindness. Also in the 1800s, he was the first scientist to explain the behavior of atoms in terms of the measurement of weight.

    Thomson was a british Philosopher that lived from 1856 - 1940. In 1897 he made the discovery of the electron and showed that the atom could split in smaller pieces. He is given credit for being the stepping stones to creating a detailed model of the atom. He also discovered the subatomic particle and isotopes.
