  • Declaration of Independence

The Declaration of Independence was also taking place during this time. The Declaration of Independence the 13 American colonies severed their political connections to Great Britain.
  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
September 6th 1766 John Dalton was born in Eagles field Cumberland England and died 27th of July 1884 at Manchester. He proposed that matter is composed of very small things called atoms. He tried to explain this through the bowling ball method.

During the time of JJ Thomson Lincoln was president and was murdered. America went through presidential construction along with radical congressional reconstruction.
  • JJ Thomson

    JJ Thomson
December 18th, 1856 JJ Thomson was born in Cheetham Hill. He died in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire on August 30th, 1940. He discovered the electron and that it has a negative component of the atom. He also did the plum pudding model.

    Robert Millikan
Was born on March 22nd of the year 1868. Robert died on the 19th in December, 1953. Millikan lived in many different locations such as Morrison Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Chicago, and Marino California. He discovered the oil-drop experiment which was used to determine the electrons charge.

    Ernest Rutherford
August 30th, 1871 Ernest Rutherford was born in Nelson, New Zealand. Ernest then died in October 19th of 1937. He discovered in 1911 that atoms have a small charged nucleus surrounded by empty space and circled by tiny electrons. This was know as the planetary model.
