Democritus
Democritus (442 BC) he found the “ultimate particle” and called it “Atomos” which means cannot be cut. (Experiment) He was the “founder” of most modern day knowledge of the atom. He was influenced by Leucippus, Melissus of Samos. His theory was the basis for all the other scientists so technically they reacted by adding onto his theory. -
John Dalton
he proposed the Law of Multiple Proportions, all matter is made of atoms he recognized the existence of atoms of elements and that compounds formed from the union of these atoms. He was influenced by John Gough . He didn’t really change the atom. He just came up with most of the symbols for the elements. -
Louisiana Purchase
a big part of the united states was bought. people beegan moving west. -
Spanish American War
The Spanish–American War was a conflict in 1898 between Spain and the United States, the result of American intervention in the Cuban War of Independence. American attacks on Spain's Pacific possessions led to involvement in the Philippine Revolution and ultimately to the Philippine–American War.[8] -
JJ Thomson
first to discover that that atom had positive and negative charges which lead to the electron. James Clerk Maxwell influenced him. He was the first to find that an atom is neural and he came up with the plum pudding atomic structer. other scientists reactions to this was to desover more about how the protons and electons workeed together. -
Robert Millikan
discovered the charge-to-mass ratio of the electron useing the oil drop experiment. that determined the charge of the electron he was influenced by elisha gray -
Model T
first affordable automobile, the car that opened travel to the common middle-class American; some of this was because of Ford's efficient fabrication, including assembly line production instead of individual hand crafting. The Ford Model T was named the world's most influential car of the 20th century in an international poll -
Ernest Rutherford
he did the gold foil experiment and in the gold foil experiment he discovered the "spiral of death" which means the nucleus is in the middle of the atom and the negatives circles around the poitive until the electron gets to the middle. he was infulenced by Henry Moseley, Hans Geiger, Albert Beaumont Wood he changed the atom with the spiral of death. -
Neils Bohr
he developed the planatarium modle which turned everthing around. inflluenced by Ernest Rutherford and Harald Høffding -
Louis De Broglie
proposed that electrons have a wave/ particle duality. proved by doubkle slit experiment by clinton Davisson and Leter Germez -
Erwin Schrodinger
furthered the wave particle theory. Quntum mechanic model. Electron cloud. influened by Arthur Scopenhaver -
Werner Heisenberg
heisenberg uncertainty priinciple cant take a measurement of an oblect without distrurbing it. influenced by bohr -
James Chadwick
discovered nuetrons. influenced by Hans geiga. smashed alpha particles into beryllium and allowed radiation release to hit paraffire wax, when beryllium radiation hot the hydrogen atoms in wax atoms were snet into detecting chamber -
World War II
considered to have lasted from 1939 to 1945,
resulted in:
Collapse of the Third Reich
Fall of Japanese and Italian Empires
Creation of the United Nations
Emergence of the United States and the Soviet Union as superpowers
Beginning of the Cold War -
Bombing of Pearl Harbor
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941 . The attack led to the United States' entry into World War II. -
