The Alchemists
The alchemists were a group that reopened the atom study because they were a group that wanted to turn common materials into gold. They did not succeed at making anything into gold but they were the first to separate substances and discovered single elements. Not only that but they created tools that scientists still use today. -
Neils Bohr
Bohr discovered one of the most important things relating to the atom. He studied the structure of the atom and what happened inside of it. He discovered that an atom has a charged nucleus and the electrons surrounding it also orbited around it. Bohr's discovery paved the way for lots of more research in the future.
