Andersonville was a prison in Georgia that held unions and union soldiers captive. The food and water was limited to the prisoners with only one stream that was used as a bathroom as well as a water source. only few prisoners escaped and told sherman and his men. -

Abraham Lincoln wrote The Emancipation Proclamation to abolish slavery in all of the union states.The law was wrote in 1862.Congress had abolished slavery in washington D.C. in April at the end of 1862. -
Freedmans Bureau
The Bureau was organized for freed men after 1862 to help freed slaves with education and supplies.They provided food , clothing , and equipment to freedmen in need.The Bureau was renewed by a congressional bill in 1866.They ran over 3,000 schools for freed people to provide education. -
KKK
The KKK were formed in 1866 by former slave owners .They were formed in the south after reconstruction .They wore white sheets , most of the time they rode around on horses in groups terrorizing freed black men.The KKK were mainly found in the south and some in the northern states.
