    Pacific Southwest 737-200
    the Pacific Southwest 737-200 was travelling from Sacramento, California to San Francisco, California. Shortly before it landed, 2 armed men hijacked the plane wanting to fly to the Soviet Union.n FBI agent went into the plane disguised as the pilot that would fly them. While this was happening, 3 other armed FBI agents went near the entry door to the plane. A gun battle broke out and the 2 hijackers along with 1 of the 77 passengers on board the plane was killed.
  • La Guardia Airport Bombing

    La Guardia Airport Bombing
    On December 29, 1975 the La Guardia Airport was bombed. It was only 4 days after Christmas. The bomb exploded at a baggage claim in the main terminal of the airport. 11 people were killed and 75 people were wounded. Zvonko Busic was imprisoned for another terrorist attack in the 1970s. He was the subject of the investigation. Zvonko Busic was released in 2008 however and the bombing remains unsolved.

    Alex Odeh Assassination
    On October 11, 1985 Alex Odeh was assassinated. He was the head of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. He opened the door to his office in Santa Ana, California and a bomb was triggered. He was killed immediately. The FBI was called in to investigate the bombing. It was concluded that the Jewish Defence League was responsible for this act of terrorism and many others at the time.
  • Pan Am Flight 103

    Pan Am Flight 103
    Pan Am Flight 103 took off from Londonś Heathrow Airport on its way to New York City. There were 259 passengers and crew on board, 189 of them being American citizens. About 40 minutes in the flight, the plane exploded above Lockerbie, Switzerland. Everyone on board was killed along with 11 people on the ground and debris from the bombing was spread out over 848 square miles. The bomb was placed inside the radio and tape deck in a piece of luggage.

    Explosions at the World Trade Center
    On March 26, 1993 there was an explosion at the World Trade Center. A truck bomb was driven by a member of al-Qaeda. It exploded in the basement of the North tower of the World Trade Center. It had devastating effects, shattering 6 underground floors. More than 1,000 people were injured and 6 people were killed. Conspirators were convicted in the next year.

    Atlanta Olympics Bombing
    On July 27, 1996 the Olympics were being held in Atlanta. Eric Rudolph put a duffel bag with 3 pipe bombs under a bench in the Centennial Olympic Park. Along with the bombs there were Rubbermaid containers full of nails and a steel plate to direct the explosion. 1 person was killed and 11 people were injured. It was said that the bombing was meant to protest the global socialist Olympic movement.

    Twin Towers Collapse
    On September 11, 2001 agents of al-Qaeda hijacked 4 commercial planes. They were flown into the twin towers at the World Trade Center and into the Pentagon. On the 4th plane, the passengers were able to overpower the hijackers. They forced a crash in a Pennsylvania field. Both towers and Building 7 eventually collapsed after the planes were flown into them. It killed more than 3,000 civilians.

  • Bush Assassination Plot

    Bush Assassination Plot
    On June 8, 2003 Ahmed Omar Abu Ali was arrested. He conspired to kill George W. Bush and hijack airplanes to provide support for al-Qaeda. He was found and arrested in Saudi Arabia where he was attending Medina University. He had joined an al-Qaeda cell and was planning on starting an al-Qaeda cell in the United States with him as the head. He was sentenced to life in prison and is currently held in supermax security prison in Florence, Colorado.

    SUV into College Crowd
    On March 3, 2006 Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar drove an SUV into a crowd of students at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Six people were injured. A few hours after the crash, he called the police and turned himself over. He said it was in retribution for the treatment of Muslims around the world. He was sentenced to a prison term of at least 26 years and 2 months after he pleaded guilty to 9 counts of attempted first degree murder.
  • Egypt Airflight 101 Hijacking

    Egypt Airflight 101 Hijacking
    On March 26, 2016 Egypt Airflight 101 from Borgel-Arab Airport in Alexandria going to Cairo was hijacked by Seif Eldin. It was said he had personal motives and wanted to get a letter to his ex wife. Others say he gave negotiation letters demanding the release of prisoners from Egyptian jails.
