    The Cat in the Hat was one of the first books I could read by myself. I would often read this book at night since it was my favorite book at the time.

    The Magic Tree House book series was one of the first chapter books I read. I enjoyed reading these books because of all the adventures the two kids would go on.

    While we were learning about the Ancient Greeks, we got to read The Odyssey to learn more about Greek mythology. I enjoyed reading this book because our teachers gave us the appropriate reading level, which helped me understand the themes and the plot.

    In 7th grade, I was introduced to "The Outsiders." The book made me enjoy reading and want to find similar ones.

    In 8th grade, I completed a project called "Book in a Box". I had to decorate the box to represent the book and fill it with objects that symbolized different parts of the book.

    Animal Farm was a book I read in 10th grade that stuck with me for many years. This was because of how they used farm animals to show how a revolution can start and how it can end in a disaster.

    Before we went into lockdown for COVID, in my English class we were starting to read "Their Eyes Are Watching God". This was my favorite book we read during my Junior Year. I enjoyed reading the Journey of Janie of trying to find love, independence, and self-fulfillment in the Deep south.

    "Brave New World" was the first dystopian fiction book. It was boring at first but then got interesting.I had to write a paper comparing the book to the real world. The book had many connections to our world, such as self-medication.

    For my last reading for high school, I had to read Hamlet, which I didn't like to read because it was difficult to read old English and understand some of the words. However, I did enjoy summarizing and drawing each scene of every act.

    For one of my courses this semester I have to read a lot of children's picture books and chapter books based on winning awards or honorable mentions. However, the books I've been reading have been about different cultures, religions, etc. Which has sparked an interest in reading that I haven't had in a long time. This class has made me enjoy reading again.
