    The Birth of Andrew Jackson
    Andrew Jackson was born on the fifth of March in 1767. He was born in Waxhawks region that was between North and South Carolina.
  • Jackson Enlists in the Revolutionary Army

    Jackson Enlists in the Revolutionary Army
    The Revolution rook a toll on the Jackson family. Jackson and his two brothers were all forced to join. One of his brothers died in battle, and then a while later, Jackson and his other brother were taken prisoner for a couple of weeks in April of 1781. While they were in prison, they refused to clean a British Officer's shoes, causing them to get slashed by a sword. Near the end of the imprisonment, his brother and him both got smallpox, and his brother died shortly after they were released.

    Battle of Horseshoe Bend
    The Native Americans and the Britains ganged up and fought the Americans during the War of 1812.
  • Battle of New Orleans

    Battle of New Orleans
    This battle marked the first battle of the American Revolution. The news of the end of the revolution did not spread across the country wuickly, because of the lack of communication at the time. On January 8, the two sides met and broke out into a battle between Britain and Jackson's army. Jackson's army were the victors and this was a vital victory for Jackson.

    Andrew Jackson and John Adams were against eachother in this election. They tied in electoral votes, so they went to Henry Clay - a member of the House of Representatives. He told everyone to vote for John Adams. Andrew Jackson thought the election was a "corrupt bargain". John Quincey Adams was elected president on February 9, 2015 after the election had been completed.

    Nullification Crisis
    The nullification crisis took place in 1828 when Jackson wanted to tax everyday goods. South Carolina disagreed with the tax, so they nullified the tariff in 1828. They did not stop there, because they then threatend to seceed so they didn't have to pay the tariff.

    Andrew Jackson and John Adams faced eachother once again in this election. Jackson spread the word that he would be about the people; because of this, he won the election by a land slide.
  • The Indian Removal Act

    The Indian Removal Act
    As westward expansion continued to take place, the Native Americans were seen as an obstacle to the new settlers. This act authorized the unsettled land west of the west of the Mississippi River for the Indian Land within the state borders of the United States.

    Worcester v. Georgia
    During this time, Georgia was ruled by Native Ammericans. Because of this, war broke out between the Charokee and the Americans of Georgia.
  • Bank of War

    Bank of War
    At this time, Jefferson vetoed the United States Bank in the year of 1833. The "Bank of War" referred to the political struggle that was faced during this veto.
