A surprise attack by Egypt and Syria against Israel, the attack starting on the Jewish Holy Day of the same name. Israel had the chance of a pre-emptive attack against the Arabs, but ultimately didn’t take the chance since Golda Meir was told to not be responsible for initiating a Middle East war. -
Camp David Accords
Jimmy Carter invited Egyptian president Anwar Sadat and Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin to Camp David where a peace treaty was finally made, ending 30 years of conflict.
