The Civil Rights Act of 1964
The Civil Rights Act banned discrimination of people based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. -

"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." -
The Equal Rights Amendment
The Equal Rights Amendment was proposed to congress to ban discrimination based on sex.
