  • Nat Turner Rebellion

    Nat Turner Rebellion
    Southern Virginia a former slave Nat turner and 70 slaves rebelled against white people killing 60 whites. 55 of the 70 slaves including the leader Turner was executed for the rebellion.

    Mexican-American War
    The Mexican american war happened as a result of Texas wanting freedom from Mexico. The Americans Supported the independence but Mexico did not this lead to war. After the war was won Texas's independence was bringing debate on if Texas should be added to the union and if it should be a slave state or not.

    John Brown was an abolitionist who believed that taking violent action against the south would lead them to give up on slavery. John Brown and his fellow abolitionists raided the federal army at Harpers Ferry in Virginia. Robert E. Lee and a small squad of marines shut down the raiding. John Brown would be later tried for his crimes on the 27th of OCT
