    The Battle of Gettysburg was a 3 day battle in Gettysburg Pennsylvania lasting from July 1st 1863 to July 3rd and was by far the bloodiest battle of the Civil War as the confederates made an advance to gain territory were repulsed by a union backlash and were forced into a retreat bringing General Lee’s Invasion of the North to an end this was very important to the union as the confederates lost many men in this retreat but in total around 46,000 and 51,000 soldiers from both sides were killed

Sherman Led his troops through the rebellious state of Georgia destroying raiding and pillaging anything in the militia movements path until they made it to Savannah, Georgia on December 21st 1864 this was one of the most important advancements of the war if not the most important one as the union gained a lot of confederate territory from this and destroyed major cities such as Atlanta by burning it to the ground
